Leaders of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) yesterday demanded arresting the people who masterminded the terror attacks in a Gulshan cafe on July 1.
“Family members of those black sheep, who carried out the heinous attacks to tarnish the image of the country, should also be interrogated,” said the leaders, asking all irrespective of caste, creed and religion, to take to the field at this critical time of the country.
They made the call from a human chain formed in front of National Press Club (NPC) yesterday morning.
Presided over by BFUJ Secretary General Omar Faruque, the function was addressed by DUJ President Shaban Mahmud, Chittagong Union of Journalists President Riyaj Haider Chowdhury, BFUJ Joint Secretary General Amiya Ghatak Pulak, former secretary general of BFUJ Abdul Jalil Bhuiyan, former general secretary of NPC Swapan Saha, Ashraful Islam and Mrinal Chakrabarti, among others.
