Leaders of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) on Tuesday expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of former Organizing Secretary of DUJ Prabir Dasgupta. Dasgupta, an artist, worked for Daily Sangbad and The Daily Janakantha for long and was an active worker of DUJ. He was elected organizing secretary of the union on 2002.
Later, he migrated to the United States of America (USA) where he breathed his last on Monday.
In a condolence message, BFUJ President Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul, Secretary General Omar Faruque and DUJ President Shaban Mahmud and General Secretary Sohel Haider Chowdhury recalled the contribution of late Dasgupta in the field of journalism as well as trade union activities.
They conveyed deep sympathy to the members of the bereaved family and prayed for salvation of the departed soul.
