BFF picks up 27 booters for AFC U-16 Championship Qualifier

Bangladesh Football Federation on Wednesday announced 27-booter name for Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-16 Championship Qualifier 2016, India.
Apart from hosts Bangladesh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and United Arab Emirates (UAE) Under-16 team will play in the qualifying round matches, which are scheduled to be held from September 16 to 20 in Dhaka.
Bangladesh Under-16 Football team clinched the recently concluded six-nation South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Under-16 Championship.
The youth Bangladesh booters finished their first-ever title winning mission dethorning India in Sylhet on August 18.
According to AFC, a total of 45 nations including hosts India will take part in the qualifiers while the draw seeding has been completed based on the rankings from the last edition in 2014 which was won by DPR Korea.
The 45 nations will play divided into two qualifying zones – West Zone which has 24 teams and East Zone with 21 teams.
The West Zone will have six groups of four teams while the East Zone will see one group of five teams and four groups of four teams.
Eleven group winners and four best second-placed teams will qualify for the final round, with hosts India receiving an automatic qualification (total 16 teams).
In case India finish top of their qualifying group or among the four best second-placed teams, the next (5th) second best placed nation will qualify for the final competition.
Bangladesh Under-16 squad: Jannatul Nayeem Parvege, Nur Alam, Antor Kumar, Uttam Chandra Roy, Sohel Rana, Emon Khan, Mahadud Hosain Fahim, Shaun Hossain, Imran Hossain Sojib, Hasibur Rahman, Minhajur Abedin Rakib, Mohammad Ridoy, Abu Bokor, Iftakhar Ahmed, Fahim Morshed, Fazly Rabby, Razuan Kabir, Rashadul Islam Zihan, Mohammad Shawon, Kafsat Taius, Borhan Uddin, Mostajeb Khan, Mohammad Rony, Miraz Hossain, Mohammad Jewel, Sarower Zaman Nipu and Faysol Ahmed.
