BFF initially picks 34 players for AFC Asia Cup Qualifiers

Bangladesh Football Federation on Tuesday preliminarily selected 34 booters to form a national team for the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers against Tajikistan, excluding four banned national players, including former captain Mamunul Islam Mamun.
Bangladesh national football team will play a two-match playoff (stage-1) against Tajikistan. Bangladesh will play their away match on June 2 and the home match on June 7 at Bangabandhu National Stadium here.
National player Mamunul Islam Mamun and Zahid Hossain banned for one year while Sohel Rana and Yesin Khan banned for six months by the BFF for violating the team discipline during their international engagements.
As per BFF fresh decision of re-considering the cases of banned players, Mamun and Sohel Rana already submitted mercy petitions to the BFF seeking review their cases, but they were not considered for the day’s preliminary squad.
The selected players were asked to report to Team Manager Satyajit Das Rupu at BFF Bhaban on Wednesday (May 11) at 12:00 noon to join the residential training camp on the same day.
The selected players are:-
Goalkeepers: Rasel Mahmud Liton, Shahidul Alam Sohel, Mazharul Islam Himel and Ashraful Islam Rana.
Defenders: Rayhan Hasan, Nasiruddin Chowdhury, Topu Barman, Nasirul Islam Nasir, Atiqur Rahman Meshu, Yemin Ahmed Chowdhury Munna, Mamun Miah, Sakil Ahmed, Mohammad Linkon, Ariful Islam, Kasto Kumar Bosh, Rezaul Karim, Khekururjaman Shobuj, Faisal Mahmud and Waly Faisal.
Midfielders: Monaem Khan Raju, Shahedul Alam Shahed Sr, Shahidul Alam Shahed, Misuk Miah Zoni, Koushik Barua and Emon Mahmud.
Forwards: Jewel Rana, Aminur Rahman Sojib, Rubel Miya, Mannan Rabby, Nabib Newaz Zijob, Burul Absar, Shaikat Mahmud and Sayed Rased Turzo.
