BFF election in full swing

The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) election has taken a competitive shape after Mohiuddin Ahmed Mohi, the candidate for the post of Vice-President of Samonnya Parishad announced their manifesto in a city hotel on Thursday.
The BFF election will be held tomorrow at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the city. A total of 139 councillors will cast their vote for the 21 posts.
Mohiuddin Ahmed Mohi announced the manifesto on behalf of Samonnya Parishad. Veteran sports organizer Ashiqur Rahman Miku introduced the candidates of the Sheikh Md Aslam-led Samonnya Parishad.
Senior Vice-President candidate Sheikh Md Aslam said, ” Most of the candidates of our panel represent the district sports associations, divisional sports associations and the organizers of the clubs. So, I am confident that the concillors will cast their vote for our panel to elect us.’
Mohiuddin Ahmed Mohi said, ” We did not give any candidate for the post of President. So, vote for the post is open to all.”
Vice-President candidate Sheikh Md Maruf Hasan said, ” If we want to develop our football we have to work hard in the grassroots level. We hope we will get all sorts of support from our Prime Minister, who is very eager to develop Bangladesh’s sports.”
Earlier, incumbent President of BFF Kazi Md Salahuddin, who is leading the Sammillita Parishad announced their manifesto on September 20.
A 21-member Salahuddin-led panel are taking part in the 21 posts.
The office bearers and EC members of the Salahuddin-led panel are: President: Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin, Sr vice-president: Abdus Salam Murshedy MP.
Vice-presidents: Kazi Nabil Ahmed ,MP, Amirul Islam Babu, Imrul Hasan and Ataur Rahman Manik.
Members: Harun ur Rashid, Shawkat Ali Khan Jahangir, Satyajit Das Rupu, Elias Hosssin, Bijon Barua, Arif Hosssin Moon, Amit Khan Shuvro, Iqbal Hossain, Mohiuddin Ahmed Salim , Md Zakir Hossain, Mahfuza Akhter Kiron, Asaduzzaman Mithu, Kamrul Hasan Hilton, Syed Riazul Karim and Imtiaz Hamid Sabuj.
Salahuddin said, “We are going to introduce a long-term and sustainable plan for Bangladesh football. If we get elected again, we will take specific actions to improve our position in the world ranking. We will try to become one of the best 150 teams in the world. And at the same time, we will put our best foot forward to make our women’s team one of the best 90 teams in the ranking.”
He said, ” FIFA Friendly matches are very important. We had a financial crisis, and so we failed to play many matches.”
Sheikh Md Aslam-led Samonnya Parishad are competing 19 posts out of 21 posts. They did not furnish any candidate for President post and a Vice-President post.
Sheikh Md Aslam is the competitor of Senior Vice-President post of the BFF election. Heavyweight candidate present Senior Vice-President of BFF Abdus Salam Murshedy, MP, is the opponent of Sheikh Md Aslam.
The office bearers and EC Members of Sheikh Md Aslam are: Senior Vice President: Sheikh Mohammad Aslam, Vice Presidents: Mohiuddin Ahmed Mohi, Sheikh Md Maruf Hasan and Abdullah Al Fuad.
EC members: Abdul Wadud Pintu , Mohammad Sabbir Hosssin, Mohidur Rahman Miraj,
Manjurul Ahsan , Imtiaz Sultan Jony, Arif Hosssin Moon, Mohammad Saiful Islam , Syed Mustaq Ali Mukul, Mohammad Ameer Khan , Hazi Tipu Sultan, Fazlur Rahman Babul, Hasnuzzaman Khan Bablu, Mizanur Rahman, ANM Aminul Haque Mamun and Shakil Mahmud Chowdury.
It may be mentioned that the long serving BFF vice president Badal Roy withdrew his candidature (after expiry of date line) for the supreme post of BFF due his critical health condition.
However, the name of Badal Roy is included in the ballot paper as president candidate alongwith Kazi Md Salahuddin and Shafiqul Islam Manik for his late withdrawal. Now, it will be open for the councillors to vote for any of the three President candidates.
Manik, who trained national football team and a number of leading BPL teams, surprisingly has come to scenario in the last moment collecting nomination paper.
