UNB, Dhaka :
Dallywood artistes, directors and producers formed a human chain in front of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) on Wednesday protesting the move to allow the screening of Indian films in local movie houses. Leaders of different film industry organisations were also present at the human chain.
Addressing the human chain programme, Dallywood star actor Shakib Khan said, “We submitted a memorandum to the Information Ministry before Eid. But suddenly we came to know that a film of Kolkata has received the permission of screening in Bangladesh. We’ll not allow this.”
Recently, the authorities gave permission for the screening of Indian Bangla film ‘Kelor Kirti’, directed by Raja Chanda, in the cinema halls. However, the High Court on Tuesday issued a stay order on the screening of the film.
