BEZA signs MoU with BCP

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed on Monday at NEC Committee Room between Programming Division of Planning Commission and Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) for piloting Business Continuity Plan (BCP) in selected economic zones. The purpose of this MoU is to provide a framework of cooperation and facilitate joint initiatives for piloting BCP in selected economic zones under BEZA management for strengthening resilience in business sector and promote risk informed development, said a press release.
Under this MoU, the NRP will provide technical support for piloting BCP in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagarlocated in Mirsarai, Feni&Sitakundo and Meghna Industrial Economic Zone in Narayanganj. The BCP will cover disaster and climate risk identification, risk mitigation options and capacity development for risk informed development. The BCP will contribute towards generation of knowledge for risk informed investment and provide clear guidance on business continuity under disaster and crisis.
Mohammed Efran Sharif, Executive Member (Planning and Development), BEZA and Khandker Ahsan Hossain, Chief, Programming Division signed the MoU. During MoU signing, senior officials from Planning Commission and BEZA including Md. Ashadul Islam, Senior Secretary, Planning Division, Doyananda Debnath ,Joint Secretary, BEZA, Dr. Nurun Nahar, Joint Chief and Project Director, NRP were present.
