Staff Reporter :
Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh (CAAB) has warned against the operation of drone flying as this poses to be a serious security threat in the country’s airspace.
CAAB has reports about the flying of drones without prior permission by some people. It has therefore cautioned all not to operate such unmanned aerial vehicle. For the safety and security of life and property of the common people and for the national security, henceforth any person, company or organisation intending to operate any flying object like drone, remote controlled planes or toy planes must obtain prior written permission before 45 days from CAAB, an official of CAAB said on Thursday.
He added flying drones without official permission is a crime.
“We are observing many people especially young researchers, enthusiastic persons and some agro farms are operating drone violating law. We are continuing our observation,” an official of CAAB said. Earlier the CAAB tightly restricted the use of drones, which could cause a plane crash in the area collision or being sucked into an engine.
Small drones usually are not visible on radar to air traffic controllers, particularly if they are made of plastic or other composites. But the restriction has been ignored by many drone operators like young researchers, enthusiastic persons and agro farms while using them to monitor crops and to spray pesticide.
