BNP leaders meet Home Minister: Better treatment for Khaleda assured

BNP’s imprisoned Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia will be given proper treatment, said the home minister.
“The former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia will be taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University for medical tests soon,” said Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan after a meeting with a BNP delegation at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
The home minister said, “The former prime minister had been receiving the better treatment as per jail code. The BNP leaders submitted a letter seeking permission to take her to United Hospital. We told them that that she will be given treatment as per the recommendation of the medical board.”

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee Members Dr. Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain, Mirza Abbas, Nazrul Islam Khan, Abdul Moyeen Khan and Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury met the home minister at 2:30pm and stayed for half an hour.
Khaleda Zia is in jail in graft case.
Home Minister informed that a medical board formed at the court’s order examined Khaleda on February 24.
She had been given treatment as per the suggestion of the medical board.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told journalists after the meeting ” The home minister told us that they would take whatever steps are needed for ensuring proper treatment to our chairperson. We believe and hope that the home minister would be true to his commitment by taking the highest measure for the best treatment of our leader.
