Alongside entertaining people through airing diversified programmes, Bangladesh Betar is playing a crucial role in rapidly disseminating information to ensure their rights to information.
Officials and cultural personalities viewed this today at a discussion organised by Bangladesh Betar, Rangpur Centre at its conference room in observance of the World Betar Day- 2021.
The officials, employees, technicians, artists, cultural activists and listeners of Rangpur centre of Bangladesh Betar participated in the discussion following health safety guidelines in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
With Rangpur Regional Director of Bangladesh Betar Dr. Md. Harun-Ar-Rashid in the chair, the function was addressed among others by Deputy Regional Directors Moyen Uddin and Rashed Khan, Regional Engineer Abu Salek, Regional News Controller Al Amin, Deputy Regional News Controller Rashed Foysal Kabir, cultural personality Dr. Mofizul Islam Maantu and senior journalist Aftab Hossain.
Dr. Rashid discussed various programmes being aired by Bangladesh Betar which was playing strong role since its inception by making people aware of all information to ensure their access and rights to information.
The speakers lauded the role of Rangpur Kendra of Bangladesh Betar in informing people about the COVID-19 pandemic, agriculture, health, family planning, gender, education, trade, sports, weather, socio-cultural and many other important issues.
Terming Bangladesh Betar as a strong medium of mass communication, they said it has literally become the voice of people and marginalized groups living in remote areas awakening them of their rights to information, empowerment and development.
Dr. Mofizul Islam said Bangladesh Betar is playing a vital role in building healthy culture and disseminating need- based information timely to local communities to help them enhancing rural uplift and improving their lifestyle.
