Prof Benu Kumar Dey of Chemistry Department of Chittagong University (CU) was appointed as the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (academy) of the university Wednesday.
A gazette notification issued by the education ministry confirmed the appointment of Prof Benu Kumar Dey as the Pro-VC for a 4-year term from today, says Prof SM Monirul Hasan, Registrar (acting) of CU.
The post fell vacant after the former Pro-VC Professor Dr Shirin Akhtar joined as the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of CU on June 2019.
The new pro VC said, “I will do my best to take Chittagong University forward. I will do my best to improve the quality of education and research and to reduce session jam. “
