Belarus has expressed its interest to provide machineries and equipment to Bangladesh with an overall investment of $117 million to enhance the capacity of its zila and upazila parishads.
The offer came when a seven-member delegation of Belarus, led by Belarus Ambassador in Dhaka Vitaly Prima, met LGRD Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain at his secretariat office on Wednesday, said a PID handout.
The Belarus envoy said apart from providing machineries to the city corporations and municipalities, the Belarus government is interested to provide machineries and equipment to the upazila and zila parishads of Bangladesh to enhance their capacities.
“For this, the Belarus government is keen to invest initially $17 million and later $100 million in Bangladesh,” Vitaly Prima said.
The LGRD Minister said the experiences of Belarus on technical capacity and infrastructural sector will help develop the socioeconomic infrastructures of Bangladesh.
