Staff Reporter : Running shops on road islands or dividers under secret dealings with influential leaders and a section of corrupt police has become a regular feature nowadays. These sorts of unlawful businesses are run by the syndicates even posh Gulshan and Baridhara areas also in the city. In the picture, a group of people are seen doing the flower business, illegally occupying the road islands at Gulshan-2. They are causing huge chaos and hampering the environment as well as traffic movement with disrupting normal movement of local people. They are not only selling flowers but also damaging the beauty of the area. These roadside vendors occupy the busy road islands from dawn to dusk under the nose of law enforcement agencies. It is alleged that the police are allowing them to continue their business in exchange of money.
