UNB, Jhenaidah :
The beheaded body of a local BNP activist was found at Sadhuhati village in Sadar upazila on Monday morning, several hours after his abduction by a group of miscreants.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Aziz, 40, son of late Abu Taleb Mandal of Bhuiyanpara village in Harinakunda upazila.
In-charge of Dak Bangla Police camp Imrul Hossain said a group of armed miscreants stormed the house of Aziz in Bhuiyanpara village on Sunday midnight and picked up him.
Local people found the body of Aziz, with the head severed, lying in a maize field near a cremation
ground at Sadhuhati village in the morning and informed police. Later, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Officer-in-charge of Jhenidah Sadar Police Station Iqbal Bahar said Aziz was a member of the outlawed Purba Banglar Communist Party. But the deceased’s family members claimed that he was a local BNP activist.
