Begum has won the Taka 10 lakh prize money for the biometric SIM re-registration campaign that was run by the mobile operator Robi.
Robi’s Regional Manager for Barisal Shahjalal handed over the cheque to Begum at the Robi Sheba centre in Barisal recently, said a press release.
Hailing from Kumarkhali village under Barguna district of Barisal division, Begum belongs to a very humble background. She doesn’t even have a house of her own. With the prize money, she intends to buy a piece of land and build her own house.
Centre Manager for the Robi Sheba in Barisal, Mizanul Ahasan Khan; SME Business Manager, Barisal, Asif Bin Mujib and Facilities and Services, Barisal Region, Rezwan Chowdhury were present on the occasion.
In order to encourage its subscribers to meet the deadline of biometric SIM re-registration, Robi had organized this campaign from 16 to 31 May 2016.
