Bengali mourning month of August has started. The most brutal murder in the history of Bangladesh took place in this month. A month-long program was inaugurated at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur to mark the month of mourning on Monday. The Vice-Chancellor of the University Professor Dr. Md. Hasibur Rashid. All present wear black badges.
After that, the Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md Hasibur Rashid and Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Sarifa Salwa Dina. Later, a silent procession led by the Vice-Chancellor and the participation of faculty, officials, staff and students of the university circumambulated the main road of the campus.
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Professor Dr. Md. Gazi Mazharul Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, Professor Dr. Md. Matiur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professor Dr. Abu Saleh Mohammad Wadudur Rahman, Registrar Engineer Mohammad Alamgir Chowdhury, Proctor Md. Golam Rabbani, Director of Planning and Development Department Md. Osman Gani Talukder, Director of Student Counseling and Guidance Department (ongoing duty) Md. Nuruzzaman Khan were present. Besides, teachers-students and officers-employees of various departments along with the leaders of various organizations including Teachers’ Association, Officers’ Association, Employees’ Union were present.
