An old man was killed after falling under a running train at Shairgacha in the city on Friday morning.
The victim was identified as Gendu Mollah, 65, hailing from Yusufdia village in Salta upazila of Faridpur district.Shahabul Islam, sub-inspector of Rajshahi Railway Police, said Gendu, who used to earn living by begging, was crushed under the wheels of a running train while crossing the rail line around 8.00 am.Locals said he could not hear the horn of the train due to his hearing problem.The body was handed over to the deceased’s family.GRP filed an unnatural death case in this connection.
