BEF gets new leaders

Kamran T. Rahman has been elected as the new president of Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF) for the two-year term, from 2017 through 2019, said in a statement.
Rahman is a leading entrepreneur in the jute and tea sectors of Bangladesh.
He is the chairman and managing director of Pubali Jute Mills Limited and Kapna Tea Company Limited. He was president of Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF) in 2007-2009 and vice-president of the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka (MCCI).
Rahman was a member (Employers’ Group) of the governing body of the International Labour Organization (ILO), Geneva for the term 2009-2012, 2012-2014 and 2014-2017. He was also the regional vice-president of International Organisation of Employers (IOE) for the Asia and Pacific region during the same period.
Ardashir Kabir has been elected as the new vice-president of Bangladesh Employers’ Federation for the two-year term, 2017-2019. He is the managing partner of Sathgao Tea Estate and the chairman of Bangladeshiyo Cha Sangsad. He has investments in tea and print media.
Other members of the BEF committee are: Tahmid Ahmed, director, the Bengal Glass Works Limited; Tanvir Ahmed, director, Envoy Textiles Limited; Miran Ali, managing director, Remi Farms Limited; Farzana Chowdhury, managing director and CEO, Green Delta Insurance Co. Ltd.
