Bachelor of Entrepreneurship Development program under Department of Business Administration of Daffodil International University (DIU) is a new program for the first time in Bangladesh with a vision. DIU has come forward with great initiative to support young potential minds to become an entrepreneur. Young entrepreneurs who will cater the need of the society will not depend on others for job. Admission in this program has been started from Spring 2015 semester. After successful completion of this program, graduates will be able to transform themselves not only as self-employed but also work as creator of employment through becoming an entrepreneur. Not only students from Commerce and Humanities but also students from Science group can do well in the program. The program is led and initiated by Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Daffodil International University as well as Daffodil Group and former President, Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) who is a successful entrepreneur of the country.
Bachelor of Entrepreneurship Development (BED) Program will have the opportunity to gather knowledge and skills which will help them turn their ideas into becoming a successful entrepreneur. BED program is designed to guide students as a navigator so that they can walk through the process of launching a venture in order to become an entrepreneur. Thus, this program is suitable for those who dream to launch a venture and become a successful entrepreneur. A group of country-known entrepreneurs and leading academicians offer this course through blending of both theory and practical exposure. Moreover, global exposure has been designed with the help of foreign universities.
Bachelor of Entrepreneurship Development program is the process of developing conceptual and practical skills and knowledge of entrepreneurs through various extensive training and classroom programs. The whole process of entrepreneurship development is to increase good number of entrepreneurs. By doing this, the speed at which new businesses or ventures are made gets better. Total numbers of courses are forty three which consist of 126 credits. Courses include Introduction to Entrepreneurship, Information Technologies Management for Entrepreneurs, Accounting for Entrepreneurs, Opportunity identification and Business ideas development, Finance for Entrepreneurs, Entrepreneurship Theory, Preparing Business Plan, Managing the Legal and Regulatory Environment of Business, Entrepreneurial Behavior, Enterprise formation and new Venture start up, Marketing for Entrepreneurs, Entrepreneurship in Action , Managing the Innovation, Organizational Behavior, Entrepreneurial Research Methods, Social Entrepreneurship /Business, Marketing for entrepreneurs, Time management and Work life Balance as an Entrepreneur etc. The course curricula have been designed in such a manner that to get of practical exposure so that greater emphasis has been given on the project work in every year.
Towards completion of course works for BED degree a student is to choose one the following business areas of concentration, each area having FIVE courses for making a Major leading to a Specialization. Concentration areas are: Manufacturing Industries; Services Industries; Social Entrepreneurship. If anyone wants to IT entrepreneur then they have lot of supporting courses.
The course wise spread of each Major areas are as follows: The purpose of designing the courses industry/business wise is to pursue the students to learn by analyzing the details of the different industrial/business sectors which may act as guide for them to choose the area of entrepreneurship they may plan to enter into.
