Beauty Begum, mother of Rakib killing prime accused Sharif and also an accused herself, reportedly made confessional statement before a court here on Friday.
Metropolitan Magistrate Aysha Akhter recorded the statement of Beauty Begum Under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
Police and court sources said the accused was produced before the court for her confessional statement around 11am. The court completed recording the statement around 4pm. In her statement, the accused informed the court that her son Sharif and one of his accomplices Mintu Khan were involved in the brutal killing of the minor boy.
The accused mentioned that she witnessed how the duo killed the minor boy by pumping air from a compressor into his abdomen through his anus. Earlier on Thursday, a court placed Beauty Begum on a three-day remand.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Faruk Iqbal passed the order after hearing a remand petition filed by Sadar Police Station sub-inspector Kazi Mostaque Ahmed, also the investigation officer of the case, earlier on Tuesday.
