The Marcel LED Television Beach Volleyball (Men’s & Women’s) Tournament begins today (Sunday) at the Laboni Point in Cox’s Bazar.
Bangladesh Volleyball Federation has arranged the volleyball meet. Walton High-tech Industries is the sponsor of the competition while Ripon Group is the co-sponsor of the tournament. A total of 10 teams will take part in the Men’s Division. They are: Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Air Force, Border Guard of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Jail, Bangladesh Power Development Board, Bangladesh A team, Chittagong University and Cox’s Bazar district.
A number of six teams will participate in Women’s Division. They are: Chittagong district, Gazipur district, Chittagong Mohammedan Sporting Club, Shahbagh Sports, Dhaka Women’s Volleyball team and Scholastica.
Marking the ensuing volleyball tournament, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangabandhu National Handball Stadium on Saturday.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Volleyball Federation (BVF) and Deputy-Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association Ashiqur Rahman Miku, Executive Director of RB Group (Walton) SM Zahid Hasan, Additional Director of RB Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Don, Joint-Secretary of BVF Advocate Fazle Rabbi were present at the conference.
The budget of the tournament has been estimated at TK three lakh. The competition will come to an end on June 25.
