Bangladesh Economics Association (BEA) in a statement on Tuesday expressed
deep shock at the death of noted economist and former Chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC) Dr ATM Zahurul Haque.
He was the former Professor of Economics Department of Dhaka University.
The association recalled with deep gratitude the contributions of Dr Haque to education and progressive movement.
The association prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family members.
