Claiming that Bangladesh’s image in the external world has not been affected at all, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali on Wednesday said the country deserves a very high level of appreciation from all for the way it handled the two recent attacks in Dhaka and Kishoreganj.
“No one is leaving Bangladesh, even the injured Japanese citizens and family members of Dhaka cafe victims have told the government that they will continue to visiting Bangladesh,” he said. The Foreign Minister was briefing he media on
Prime Minister’s Mongolia visit on Wednesday afternoon at his ministry.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to leave for Mongolia this morning to attend the 11th ASEM Summit which will issue a clear message to the international community that terrorism can never be tolerated. The Prime Minister will hold a series of important meetings during her three-day visit, said an official at the Foreign Ministry. She will have meetings, among others, with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj, Myanmar President Htin Kyaw, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, European Union President Jean-Claude Juncker Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni Silveri. Sheikh Hasina leaves for the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar at 11am today and returns home on the evening of July 16, Foreign Ministry sources said.
The Prime Minister will brief her counterparts and global leaders about Bangladesh’s security situation both in local and global contexts.
