BDRCS provides food to 400 Gaibandha corona affected people

A number of 400 distressed people affected by COVID-19 got food from Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), Gaibandha unit this morning. A food distribution function was held on the ground of Islamia High School here with president of the unit and also chairman of Zilla Parishad Ataur Rahman Sarkar Ata in the chair on the occasion. Whip of the Jatiya Sangsad and also local lawmaker Mahabub Ara Begum Gini attended the function as the chief guest.
The function was also addressed among others by secretary of the unit Rezaul Karim Reza, unit members Mridul Mostafiz Jhantu and Rezaunnabi Razu.
Mahabub Ara Begum Gini said the government stood beside the corona affected people with humanitarian assistance to help them pass the hard times.
Not only the government, various donor organizations like BDRCS also stood beside the affected people with food materials to help them celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr peacefully, she added.
Later she formally inaugurated the food distribution activity to the distressed people. Each of the beneficiaries got a package of food containing 7.50 kgs of rice, one kg pulse, one kg salt, one kg sugar, 500 grams of Suji and one liter of Soybean oil.
Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Rafiul Alam were also present on the occasion.
