Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) distributed cash money and relief goods among 200 flood-affected families of different remote char villages under Chilmari upazila in Kurigram district.
Kurigram unit of BDRCS under supervision of its national headquarters at Dhaka distributed Taka 1,500 in cash and relief goods among each of the beneficiary families at a ceremony held on Chilmari Upazila Parishad office premises.
In addition to Taka 1,500 in cash, each of the beneficiary flood-affected families received two pieces of laundry soap and one piece of toilet soap, one dozen of candle sticks, one gas lighter, two packets of sanitary napkin, one packing and one comb.
Chilmari Upazila Parishad Chairman Shawkat Ali Sarker, Bir Bikram, attended the ceremony and distributed the relief goods as the chief guest with vice-chairman of Kurigram unit of BDRCS Aminul Islam Manju Mandal in the chair.
Kurigram unit level officer of BDRCS ABM Bayezid, its Executive Member Alok Sarker, Chilmari Upazila Parishad Vice-chairman Marjina Begum Jelly, editor of the Weekly Juger Khabar SM Nurul Amin Sarker, were present, among others.
