The leaders of Bangladesh Dokan Malik Samity (BDMS) on Saturday urged the government to fix 2 per cent VAT at source, instead of 5 per cent at both the wholesale and retail level, in the upcoming national budget for the 2022-23 fiscal year to protect micro and small businesses.
BDMS leaders made the call at a press conference at the BDMS office in Moghbazar, Dhaka.
The association’s President Mohammad Helal Uddin implored the authorities concerned to amend the Mobile Court Ordinance so that businesses are not subjected to harassment.
