Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket team clinched the four-match Youth ODI series 3-0 beating visitors Zimbabwe Under-19 side by seven wickets in the 3rd match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagang on Saturday.Hosts Bangladesh took 1-0 lead beating Zimbabwe by five wickets in the first Youth ODI on Tuesday and they extended the margin 2-0 beating the visitors by 58 runs featuring a century by Saif Hasan in the 2nd match on Thursday at the same venue. The remaining Youth ODI match will be held on Monday (November 16) at the same venue.Winning the toss in the day’ match, Zimbabwe Youth team opened the innings first and were bundled out cheaply for 84 runs in 40.5 overs with only three batsmen-opener Jeremy Ives 22, William Mashinge 17 and Ryan Murray 12 — reaching the double figure. Ariful Islam picked up four Zimbabwean wickets for 18 runs in his 9.5 overs spell and was adjudged the man of the match. Sanjit Saha grabbed two wickets for 14 runs while Mehedi Hasan Miraj, Saleh Ahmed Shawon Saeed Sarker and Abdul Halim took one wicket each conceding 6, 10, 12 and 23 runs respectively. In reply, the home side easily reached their target scoring the match-winner 85 runs for loss of three wickets in just 15.5 oversOne down Zakir Hasan contributed the match-highest 27 runs off 33 balls hitting five boundaries, number four Nazmul Hasan Shanto scored not out 20-ball 21 runs, featuring three fours, opener Saif Hasan made 31-ball 17 runs with two fours while another opener Pinak Ghosh added 10-ball 12 runs, including a boundary.
