The elections to the central, district and upazila commands of the Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad (BMS) will be held on June 4, this year.
The total number of voters of the Sangsad across the country is 1,52,078, a press release signed by Akram Hossain, chief coordinator of Muktijoddha Sangsad election-2014, said. Freedom fighters would cast their ballots for 41 posts to the central command council, 17 posts for each of the seven metropolitan cities, 17 posts for each of the 64 districts and 11 posts for each of the 479 upazila commands across the country during the June 4 election.
During the election, vote would be cast between 9am to 4pm without any break at four centers in the Dhaka metropolitan city; one center each, in Chittagong, Khulna, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Sylhet and Barisal metropolitan cities.
There will be 490 centers one each in every upazilla. In the capital, voting will be held at Motijeel Ideal School and College, Banani Model School, Dhaka Government Musim High School and New Model Bahumukhi High School.
A total of 163 candidates, including four independents, are contesting in four panels for 41 posts to the central command council election, it said.
Major (retd) Zia Uddin, Major General G H Morshed Khan, Major (retd) Wakar Hassan and Principal Abdul Ahad Chowdhury are leading the four panels respectively in the central command council election, the release said.
