Bangladesh delegation to the 31st FAO Committee on Fisheries (COFI) Conference led by Fisheries and Livestock Minister H E M Muhammed Sayedul Hoque met with president of International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) Dr Kanayo F Nwanze in Rome, Italy on June 12. They discussed the existing and future collaboration between Bangladesh and IFAD in agriculture, fisheries and livestock sector for poverty alleviation and economic development, according to a message received here on Saturday.
During the meeting, the fisheries & livestock minister was assisted, among others, by Bangladesh Ambassador Shahdat Hossain, director general of Fisheries Dr Syed Arif Azad and chairman of Bangladesh Shrimp and Fish Foundation Syed Mahmudul Huq while President of IFAD was assisted, among others, by Hoonae Kin and Nigel Brett from the organisation.
