BDApps, the biggest mobile application platform of the country has recently hosted its signature event, Innovation Hackathon. The hackathon took place at Robi Corporate Office in the city on Friday. In total, 41 individuals took part in the final hackathon event in 14 teams, said a press release.
DigitalMCQ team from Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology were crowned as the champion of the hackathon. Brotherhood team from the International Islamic University Chittagong was the first runner-up and the fSociety team from BRAC University secured the second runner-up position.
The winners were given cash prizes to support their application’s promotion. BDApps will train and support the winners and all the participants to popularize and commercialize their apps. BDApps will also provide the winners a platform to present to different stakeholders with a view to help them grow as digital entrepreneurs.
The participants had to solve problems around four major areas: Agriculture, Health, Education and Lifestyle in the 24 hour-long hackathon. The contestants have integrated telecom subscriber’s features, re-organized their initial scope for making the app more user-friendly, uploaded their apps in AppStore and presented their final results in front of the jury board.
Robi’s Chief Digital Services Officer, Shihab Ahmad announced the winners and distributed cash prizes among them at the closing ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, he said “With support from the enthusiastic young app developers of the country, BDApps has already become the biggest app platform of the country.
