Bangladesh National Cricket team will take on Zimbabwe National Cricket team in the 1st ODI of the three-match ODI series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur today. The day/night affair starts at 1.00 pm. Private Satellite Channel GTV will telecast the match live from the arena.
Before today’s match, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe
faced each other in 63 ODI matches. Of them, Bangladesh registered 35 victories, while Zimbabwe won in 28 matches.
Mashrafe Bin Mortaza spoke at a press conference at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel on Friday.
Captain of Bangladesh team Mashrafe Bin Mortaza expressed his satisfaction about his bowling department. Mashrafe said, ” Mustafizur Rahman is now in a good form. Al-Amin Hossain has also returned to the squad. Newcomer Kamrul Islam Rabbi is in the squad. Mahmudullah Riyad and Nasir Hossain are also in the squad. We have not yet finalized our squad. I have many options before tomorrow’s match. I am optimistic with our bowling combination.”
Mashrafe said, ” I am not now totally okay. But, I am confident that I can play in the tomorrow’s match.”
Bangladesh skipper said, ” We don’t take Zimbabwe lightly. Zimbabwe are balanced side. Their team combination is really good.”
He said, ” Our main target is to win. We want to win against Zimbabwe match by match. If we win tomorrow’s match, it will give us confidence and we shall naturally win the series.”
Captain of Zimbabwe Elton Chigumbura said, ” Our boys played well in the warm-up match. Our batsmen performed well in the practice one-day match. It will give us inspiration.”
Chigumbura said, ” We are thinking about the pacers and the spinners of Bangladesh. We want to face pace and spin attack of Bangladesh properly.”
He said, ” We have to perform totally well if we want to win. Every player has to perform his best in the field tomorrow.”
