UNB, Lalmonirhat:A Bangladeshi young man was shot dead by the members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on Shamsher Nagar border in Patgram upazila on Wednesday night.The victim was identified as Shimul Prodhan, 30, son of Mafizar Prodhan of Khanpara area of Patgram Union.Witnesses and sources at Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) said BSF troops of Chongarkhata camp opened fire on a group of 8-10 Bangladeshi cattle traders, including Shimul, near main pillar no 861 while they were trying to bring cattle to Bangladesh from the Indian territory around 10:30pm, leaving Shimul injured critically.Shimul was taken to Patgram Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead.
