Bangladeshi workers can travel to Malaysia at the lowest possible cost as the workers cannot earn their money against their excessive migration cost after going abroad.
So spending of extra money is not acceptable to the government and the ministry concerned has made arrangements so that the Bangladeshi workers can travel at the lowest possible cost.
Minister for Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Imran Ahmed disclosed this while talking to journalists at the inauguration ceremony of a foreign exchange booth at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on Saturday. The foreign exchange booth has been installed at the initiative of Prabasi Kalyan Bank in collaboration with the Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority (BACA). “Malaysian Minister for Human Resources M Saravanan, who recently visited Bangladesh, has repeatedly emphasized for zero immigration expenditure. According to the memorandum of understanding, the employers will have to pay the immigration cost,”the Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister said.
Media can play an important role and highlighted the issue by giving importance, he said. Mentioning that the entire team of the ministry has been working even on holidays so that the workers can be sent to Malaysia quickly, Imran Ahmed said.
“The Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment is finalizing the cost of workers and determining how it will be implemented. Besides, the officials of the ministry have also been working for the registration system in BMET’s databank and how to ensure other facilities for the Bangladeshi workers in Malaysia also,” the Minister said.
According to the government’s commitment, the Bangladeshi workers will start leaving the country for Malaysia in this this month. “We are working on it keeping the mind that set for June. Once the workers start moving, our target will likely be more than 10 lakh. The government has a target to send eight lakh workers to Malaysia from Bangladesh which already has crossed,” the Minister said.
