Bangladesh Women’s Football team, Jordan and Iran have been billed in Group-G in their AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers, which will be held in Bangladesh from September 13 to September 25. The teams, which will qualify for the final round will play in the final phase in India from January 20 to February 6.
The draw ceremony of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers was held at Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia on Thursday.
Chairperson of the Women’s Wing of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Mahfuza Akter Kiron said, ” It is confirm that we shall host our group matches.”
She said, ” The fate of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers depends on the coronavirus situation in September. It is uncertain that the Bangabandhu National Stadium will be available that period. Because the renovation works of the Stadium will be going on that time. In that case, The matches of Group-G will be held outside Dhaka.
A total of 28 countries splitting into eight groups will take part in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers. The top team from each group will play in the final round in India.
Grouping
Group A: Chinese Taipei, Bahrain, Turkmenistan and Laos.
Group B: Vietnam, Tajikistan, Maldives and Afghanistan.
Group C: DPR Korea, Singapore, Iraq and Indonesia.
Group D: Myanmar, United Arab Emirates, Guam and Lebanon.
Group E: Korea Republic, Uzbekistan and Mongolia.
Group F: Philippines, Hong Kong and Nepal.
Group G: Jordan, Islamic Republic of Iran and Bangladesh.
Group H: Thailand, Palestine and Malaysia.
