Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team whitewashed Zimbabwe Women’s Cricket team in their three-match One Day International (ODI) series 3-0 after thrashing Zimbabwe by seven wickets in their third and last ODI at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe on Monday.
Chasing Zimbabwe’s paltry total of 72 off 27.2 overs, Bangladesh romped home making 74 for the loss of three wicket when the had 190 balls to spare.
Openers Murshida Khatun and Nuzhat Tasnia put on together 32 runs in the opening stand before Tasnia was caught & bowled by Loryn Phiri.
After Tasnia’s dismissal, Murshida Khatun and Nigar Sultana contributed together 32 runs for the second wicket partnership before Nigar Sultana was trapped leg before wicket Esther Mbofana when Bangladesh’s score was 64 for the loss of two wickets.
After Sultana’s departure, Sobhana Mostary came at the crease but she could stay at the crease for a short period as she (1) was trapped leg before wicket by Nombelo Sibanda when Bangladesh’s score was 70 for the loss of three wickets.
Opener Murshida Khatun remained unbeaten with 39 runs. Her 48-ball innings saw five fours.
Nigar Sultana made 12 from 27 balls featuring one four.
Nuzhat Tasnia scored 10 from 24 deliveries.
Esther Mbofana, Loryn Phiri and Nombelo Sibanda took one wicket each for 12, 14 and 25 runs respectively.
Earlier, The Bangladesh bowlers totally dominated Zimbabwean batters.
Nahida Akter claimed five wickets at the cost of 21 runs. Nahida Akter was adjudged the Player of the Match.
Rumana Ahmed and Faria Trisna bagged two wickets each for seven and 17 runs respectively.
Opener Sharne Mayers was the only Zimbabwean batter, who could reach the double digit figures making 39. She hit four fours in her 61-ball innings.
