BD women qualify for ICC WWC T20

Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team qualified for the upcoming ICC Women’s World Cup (WWC) T20 2020 after beating Ireland Women’s Cricket team by four wickets in the first semi-final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers at Dundee in Scotland on Thursday.
Chasing Ireland’s total of 85 off 20 overs, Bangladesh reached the winning target making 86 for the loss of six wickets when they had nine balls to spare.
Sanjida Islam remained unbeaten with 32. His 37-ball innings saw three fours.
Ritu Moni and Murshida Khatun contributed 15 and 13 runs respectively to Bangladesh’s total.
O Prendergast bagged a couple of wickets at the cost of 11 runs, while S Macmahon and KJ Garth
took one wicket each conceding nine and 13 runs respectively.
Earlier, L Delany and EAJ Richardson made 25 each against the superb bowling attack of Bangladesh.
Fahima Khatun captured three wickets instead of 18 runs, while Salma Khatun, Nahida Akter, Ritu Moni and Jahanara Alam took one wicket each for 10, 17, 19 and 21 runs respectively.
