BD-US to work together controlling dengue: Miller

Bangladesh and the United States of America (USA) will work together to control dengue, while the US-based Communicable Disease Management Department will provide all types of cooperation to Dhaka South City Corporation
US ambassador to Bangladesh Robert Miller said in response to a question of a journalist in a press briefing on Wednesday while visiting Nazirabazar, Kazi Alauddin Road and adjacent areas of old Dhaka.
The Ambassador took taste of traditional meals like Biryani, Bakrakhani
 and Matha there. Later, he distributed awareness leaflets of dengue among the residents.
Robert Miller said, ‘There is our small office in Bangladesh. It deals with dengue, malaria and disaster management here. The office also works for the development of Dhaka City. I talked about disaster management and how to protect people from dengue.’
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Mohammad Sayeed Khokon said, “The USA will assist DSCC to Control Dengue by their office. The Ambassador assured of all kinds of cooperations to prevent dengue.”
The officials of Dhaka South City Corporation were present at the ceremony.
