Bangladesh Under-16 Women’s Football team completed their South Korean tour on a winning note defeating Oju Middle School Women’s FC by 3-0 goals in the 4th and last preparatory match in Paju on Wednesday.
The Bangladesh women registered the comprehensive victory as Sanjida and Nargis put Bangladesh ahead scoring the first two goals while Shopna scored the 3rd goal in the dying moment, according to Bangladesh Football Federation.
By virtue of the day’s well-merited victory, the morale of the visiting Bangladesh women’s team became high after winning two matches out of four.
In the remaining two matches, Bangladesh lost one and settled for a draw in the other.
The women’s team flew to the South Korean city of Paju on July 10 to play four preparatory matches ahead of the eight-team final round of the AFC U-16 Championship billed for next September in Thailand and made a frustrating start after conceding 0-6 goals defeat against South Korean Under-16 team.
Bangladesh team smartly bounced back in the tour with high morale crushing Korean Yulmyun Middle School team by 9-0 goals in the 2nd match in Paju.
Visiting Bangladeshi women playedto a 2-2 draw against Hwacheon Information Industry High School Women’s Football Club in a keenly contested match at National Football Centre of the KFA in Paju, South Korea last Monday.
In their 3rd preparatory match on the day, the visiting side drew the game bouncing back from 2-0 goals down.
At one stage, Bangladesh changed their game strategy and put their more players to the forward area which eventually saw the first success in the 73rd minute as midfielder Sanjida Akhter reduced the margin 2-1.
Defender Shamsunnahar went forward and fired the net for the visitors in the 79th minute to settle for 2-2 draw.
Bangladesh were put in strong Group B along with holders North Korea, last time runners-up Japan and Australia while Group A teams comprises South Korea, China, Laos and hosts Thailand in the prestigious Asian Junior Women’s meet scheduled for September 10 to 23.
Bangladesh will start their campaign in the eight-team AFC U-16 Women’s Championship taking on North Korea in the first match on September 11 at Chonburi Stadium.
In remaining group matches, Bangladesh will play Japan on Sept 14 at 17.00 at IPE Stadium in Chonburu and Australia on Sept 17 at 18.00 hours at the same venue..
