BD U-16 Women, Chinese U-14 play out goalless draw

The high-flying Bangladesh Under-16 Women’s football team held their own against the strong Chinese Under-14 national side to end their friendly in a goalless draw in Shanghai on Monday.
The Bangladesh girls were very competitive against their younger opponents, especially with midfielder Akhi Khatun’s brilliant performance while goalkeeper Mahmuda Akhter defended the bar for the entire match not to concede any goals.
Chinese U14 side denied the visitors forward Sirat Jahan Shopna’s two attempts to convert.
Although the match ended with no goals, it was an exciting affair with end-to-end action and a numbers of chances for both sides to score.
The Bangladesh U16 Women’s team are currently in China on a five-match preparatory tour involving preparation ahead of the eight-nation final round of the AFC U16 Women’s Championship to be hosted by Thailand in September.
The team are still scheduled to play Shaanxi Regional Team on Tuesday and will play the 5th and last friendly match against CFA U-14 National team on April 26.
Bangladesh U16 side defeated Shaanxi U15 Women’s team by 4-1 goals on Sunday, starting their camp with a 0-1 loss against CFA U-14 team on Saturday (April 22).
