Bangladesh will host late next year the 11th Government Discussion Forum on Electronic Identity (e-ID), the Asia’s largest meeting of government agencies, to share experience in launching and operating national e-ID card schemes and government electronic services for citizens.
Representatives from over 40 countries of Asia and also from Africa, Europe and America are expected to participate in the 11th Government Discussion Forum on Electronic Identity (e-ID) to be held from December 1 to 3, 2015.
“The forum will create an excellent opportunity for Bangladesh to demonstrate knowledge, experience and showcase achievements as well as provide opportunity to gather information, perspectives and ideas from peer government agencies in other countries,” Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Secretary Md Nazrul Islam Khan (N I Khan) told an inter-ministerial meeting held at the conference room of the ICT Division on Tuesday.
He said government officers and policymakers responsible for citizens’ identity-related services can share the latest information, discuss current challenges and best practices on how to move forward.
