Bangladesh National Hockey team will take on Ukraine today in the 5th/6th place deciding match of the eight-nation FIH Hockey World League (round-2) in Singapore.
Bangladesh, which failed to reserve a seat from the three spots for Round-3, pulled off a chance to place 5th/6th by virtue of the 3-0 win against hosts Singapore in the 5th to 8th place deciding on Friday.
Earlier, Bangladesh lost to Oman 0-2 in the third quarterfinal on Thursday, which was Bangladesh’s third consecutive defeat against Gulf nation Oman after losing by 2-3 and 2-4 in the 2014 Asian Games and 2013 Asia Cup respectively.
Bangladesh advanced to the quarterfinal from Pool-B as the 3rd place finisher securing three points from their three matches beating all-losers Mexico 6-1, while lost to Japan 1-5 and Poland 0-5.
