BD to face daunting task in 2nd Test against SA

Bangladesh will face a daunting task on the fourth and fifth day of the second Test against South Africa (SA) as they scored 27 for the loss of three wickets in their second innings before the bails were drawn for the third day (Sunday).
Batting first South Africa piled up a massive total of 453 in their first innings on the second day (Saturday).
In reply, Bangladesh scored 217 in the first innings on the third day (Sunday).
Later, South Africa declared their second innings making 176 for the loss of six wickets and set a target of 413 runs to win for Bangladesh.
Opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy (0) was caught by Wiaan Mulder off Keshav Maharaj when Bangladesh’s score was just one.
After Joy’s dismissal, one-down Najmul Hossain Shanto was trapped leg before wicket by Keshav Maharaj when the tourists’ total was 11 for the loss of two wickets.
Tamim Iqbal, the other opener (13) was caught at the first slip by Mulder off Simon Harmer before the two umpires pocketed the bails for the third day.
Maharaj claimed two wickets at the cost of 17 runs, while Simon Harmer took one wicket for eight runs.
Earlier, Bangladesh resumed their first innings with the over-night score of 139 for the loss of five wickets.
Mushfiqur Rahim and Yasir Ali resumed their first innings with the over-night score of 30 and eight runs respectively.
Yasir Ali and Mushfiqur Rahim put on together 53 runs on the third day before Yasir Ali was caught & bowled by Keshav Maharaj when the tourists’ total was 192 for the loss of six wickets.
Yasir Ali knocked a calm 46. His 87-ball innings was belted with seven fours.
After Yasir Ali’s departure, Mushfiqur Rahim was bowled out by Simon Harmer when the visitors’ score was 210 for the loss of seven wickets.
Mushfiqur Rahim notched up a painstaking 51. He hit eight fours in his 136-ball knock. It was Mushfiqur Rahim’s 25th half-century in Test cricket.
Simon Harmer and Keshav Maharaj of South Africa got success on the third day. Harmer grabbed three wickets in the space of 39 runs, while Maharaj bagged two wickets at the cost of 57 runs.
