Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sherif hoped that Bangladesh would become a middle-income country by 2019 as the government has taken different initiatives including digitization under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“We are working to build a digital Bangladesh as per the government electoral pledge,” he said this while addressing a function on International Human Rights Day-2015 as the chief guest at Public Library auditorium in the city.
Sherif said the country has achieved remarkable progress in different sectors including health, education, women empowerment and infant mortality rate.
Human Rights Review Society Chairman Advocate Mohammad Saidul Haque Sayeed presided over the function while freedom fighter Dr Rofiqul Islam and Naval Commando Mohammad Amir Hossain attended on the occasion.
