There is no end in sight to the coronavirus crisis which is ravaging the entire world. The death from the deadly virus has crossed 2 lakh and confirmed cases have neared 30 lakh.
However, researchers at the Data-Driven Innovation Lab of Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) have come up with predictions about the end of Covid-19 which has raised hope. They said, the world will be completely free of the deadly virus on December 8 next.
The virus will disappear 97 percent from the world by May 29 as per the prediction. The institution published information of research on 131 countries about the departure of coronavirus on its website on Sunday.
About Bangladesh, it said coronavirus will depart 97 percent by May 19 and 99 percent by May 30. The virus will be completely eradicated from Bangladesh by July 15, said the lab.
Susceptible Infective Recovered (SUR) method was used in the study where conclusions are drawn based on data from different countries and coronavirus life cycle.
Bangladesh reported first three cases of coronavirus on March 8 last and first death from Covid-19 on March 18. The country has so far confirmed 145 deaths and 5,416 cases.
Meanwhile, the global death toll from coronavirus has reached 206,990 as of Monday morning.
It has so far infected 2,994,734 people around the world, according to Worldometer. Of those infected, 1,908,928 are currently being treated with 57,603 being in serious or critical condition. So far, 878,816 people have recovered.
