BD take on Seychelles in 4-Nation Football opener

Bangladesh will take on Seychelles in the opening match of the Four-Nation Football Tournament at Racecourse Ground in Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka today. The match will kick-off at 4.30pm (BST). The other teams of the Four-Nation Football Tournament are: Hosts Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldives and Seychelles. According to the latest FIFA rankings, Bangladesh have taken 187th position, while Seychelles have earned 199th spot and Sri Lanka have achieved 204th position. Maldives have the best position among the four teams. Maldives have taken the 156th position. The first phase of the football competition will be held on Single League basis. Top two teams will get tickets of the final. The final will take place on November 17.
Bangladesh Football team have been trained by newly appointed by interim Head Coach Mario Lemos. Mario Lemos is current Head Coach of Dhaka Abahani Limited.
Before the Four-Nation Football Tournament, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives took part in the SAFF Championship. Maldives became third collecting six points from four matches, while Bangladesh finished fourth gaining five points from four matches. Sri Lanka took the bottom position with one point from four matches.
On the other hand, Seychelles is a member of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
