Twenty-six Bangladeshi students who returned home after their recent 9-day visit to Japan shared their life-time experiences with officials of the Embassy of Japan.
The visit was a part of the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchanges for Students and Youths (JENESYS) program that has been offered by the Government of Japan since 2007 to further promote friendly ties among people in Japan and SAARC countries. This year, Bangladeshi students, who were divided into two batches, visited Japanese universities and telecommunication, disaster prevention as well as energy-related facilities in Tokyo, Tochigi, Chiba and Iwate respectively. While they observed Japan’s cutting-edge technology at these facilities, they immersed themselves into Japanese culture through various programs, such as homestay.
At the same time, they conveyed Bangladeshi culture to local Japanese, which contributed significantly to expand grass-roots exchanges between the two countries.
“I learned a lot about Japan through this visit. Their politeness, punctuality and patriotism really amazed me,” said one of the students participated in the second batch. On the last day in Japan, Bangladesh team received the best presentation award for the action plan at the final session. After the reporting session at the Embassy, they enjoyed a hand-on Japanese calligraphy workshop with brush and black ink.
