4-Nation Football opener: BD-Seychelles match postponed

The opening match of the Four-Nation Football Tournament between Bangladesh and Seychelles was postponed due to heavy downpour at Racecourse Ground in Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka on Monday. The match will be held today (Tuesday) at the same venue at 4.30pm (BST). Besides, Bangladesh’s rest of the second and third matches will be held November 12 and November 15 instead of November 11 and November 15. Bangladesh will take on Maldives in their second match on November 12. Bangladesh will face Sri Lanka in their third match on November 15.
Interim Head Coach of Bangladesh Football team Mario Lemos said, “The regulation opening match was not held on Monday due to heavy shower. So, my boys will get more one day for their practice.”
On the other hand, Manager of Bangladesh Football team Satyajit Das Rupu was not satisfied after he had inspected the ground. He said, ” The Racecourse Ground became wet due to heavy downpour. Our players took part in their practice in the turf. They could not take part in the practice at the practice venue due to heavy shower. Our all the matches are deferred. The final also may be deferred.”
