Fisheries and Livestock Minister Mohammad Sayedul Haque has sought intensive cooperation from Sri Lanka for developing fisheries and livestock resources in Bangladesh.
“Sri Lanka can play vital role in meeting protein deficiency investing in the livestock and fisheries sector in the country”, the minister said.
The minister underscored this potential when newly appointed Bangladeshi envoy to Sri Lanka Mohammad Riaz Hamidullah joined him for exchanging views at his secretariat office Tuesday.
The new Bangladeshi envoy assured the minister that he would try to convince the Sri Lankan government to invest in the fisheries and livestock sector in Bangladesh.
High officials of the ministry including Fisheries and Livestock Secretary M Maksudul Hasan were present.
