BD promoting safe, orderly migration nationally

Bangladesh Ambassador to Thailand Saida Muna Tasneem on Friday reaffirmed the ‘unrelenting commitment’ of the government at national and international levels to protect and promote the rights and welfare of migrant workers at home and abroad.
She made the remark while addressing a seminar organized marking the International Migrants Day 2015 at the Embassy, according to a message received here from the Embassy. Senior representatives from regional offices of relevant International Organizations, including the IOM, ICRC, ILO and UNHCR attended the programme.
The envoy underlined the government would continue to pursue a pro-people, inclusive and equitable migration regime for new global compact for managing humane and orderly migration in a post-2015 period out the initiatives taken by the government of Bangladesh for the better governance of migration.
She also briefed the attendees that the government has taken stringent measures for making the migration safer and orderly, and reminded that Bangladesh has zero tolerance against any safety and security issue relating to the Bangladeshi migrant workers.
