BD -Netherlands team visits foreign-aided projects in Patuakhali

Bangladesh-Netherlands joint team visited foreign-aided projects at Tushkhali village in Chotobighai union under Patuakhali sadar upazila on Wednesday.
 The 25- member team visited activities of separate three projects from 12.30 am to 4 pm on the day.
Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud, Water Resources Minister of Bangaldesh Government and Melanie Schultz Van, Minister of Infrastructure and Environment of Netherlands Government led the team.
They arrived in Patuakhali at about 11 am and first they visited Paira sea port, the under construction port in Kalapara upazila in the district and then visited various activities of three projects at Tuskhali village.
The projects are Blue gold project implemented by WDB (Water Development Board), Max-wash project and Nirapod project.
Founder of Max-foundation Steven Le poole, Joke Le Poole and country director Imam Mahmud Riad were present there.
The team observed river erosion, construction of retired embankment, sanitation situation in the area.
They talked with villagers, water management groups, local contracting society. Govt. officials and beneficiaries.
 Water Resources Minister Anisul Islam said, we are working together to stop river erosion and change socio-economic condition of our people through various projects activities in the areas.
Government is very cordial to do better work in the interest of local people, he said.
